#CostaRica 🇨🇷 #BDS_LaborAlert: Bill Proposal Would Create New Paid Bereavement Leave

The Legislative Assembly is currently discussing Bill No. 23,929, which would amend Article 69 of the Labor Code to establish, for the first time in Costa Rica, paid bereavement leave.

According to this bill, in the event of death of a first-degree relative by blood or marriage, the employer must grant the concerned worker a paid leave of three working days. In cases involving second- or third-degree relatives by blood or marriage, this leave would be one working day.
