#DominicanRepublic 🇩🇴 #BDS_LaborAlert: Non-Sectorized Private-Sector Minimum Wage to Increase by 8% in February

As of February 1, the non-sectorized private-sector minimum wage will be increased by 8%. This adjustment completes the staggered 20% increase approved last year by the National Salary Committee (CNS).

This final phase follows the initial 12% increase applied in April 2025, and the new rates must be implemented by companies according to their size.

In the case of large companies, defined as those with 151 employees or more or with annual gross sales exceeding 202 million pesos, the minimum wage will increase from 27,988.80 pesos to 29,988 pesos per month, representing an increase of 2,000 pesos for employees.

For medium-sized companies, which employ between 51 and 150 workers and generate annual gross sales from 54 million pesos plus one up to 202 million pesos, the minimum wage will rise from 25,656.96 pesos to 27,489.60 pesos, equivalent to an increase of 1,832.64 pesos.

As for small companies, i.e. those with a workforce between 11 and 50 employees and annual gross sales from 8 million pesos plus one up to 54 million pesos, the 8% adjustment will set the minimum wage at 18,421.20 pesos, representing an increase of 1,228.08 pesos compared to the amount in force since April 2025.

Finally, for micro-enterprises, i.e., those employing up to 10 workers and reporting annual gross sales of up to 8 million pesos, the minimum wage will increase from 15,860 pesos to 16,993 pesos per month with the application of this adjustment.

At BDS Asesores, we recommend that companies review their current business classification, update their payroll systems accordingly, and properly document the application of the increase to ensure compliance with labor regulations and mitigate potential legal risks.
