#Guatemala 🇬🇹 #BDS_LaborAlert: New Minimum Wages for 2026

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the new minimum wages applicable in Guatemala for 2026 were established. This followed a decision adopted by the National Wage Commission (CNS), a tripartite body composed of representatives of the Government, the employer sector, and the worker sector.

The determination was made in accordance with the applicable legal framework and maintains the system of differentiated wages by economic circumscription and productive activity, incorporating the percentage adjustments defined for the upcoming period.

The minimum wage remains structured around four components: daily wage, monthly wage, Q250 incentive bonus, and total wage, providing a comprehensive view of the minimum labor cost per worker.

Below are the official tables, organized by economic circumscription:

Minimum Wage 2026 – EC1
Economic Circumscription 1: Department of Guatemala

Minimum Wage 2026 – EC2
Economic Circumscription 2: All other departments

From a corporate perspective, these adjustments require updating personnel budgets, salary structures, and payroll systems. Companies should verify their applicable economic circumscription and registered economic activity with labor authorities to ensure timely compliance during 2026.
