On Wednesday, November 5, an official statement was issued by Mr. Andrés V. Herrera, Director General of Labor, reminding that Law No. 139-97, dated June 19, 1997, and published in Official Gazette No. 9957 on June 25 of the same year, provides for the transfer to Mondays of national holidays that fall on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
In accordance with the above, the official list of public holidays for the year 2026 is provided below, along with their respective commemoration and observation dates:

The Ministry of Labor ratified that this provision must be generally and mandatorily enforced in all public and private establishments in the country. Employers must adjust their work schedules and payrolls in accordance with the official holiday calendar for 2026.
With this measure, the aim is to standardize rest days and support operational and administrative planning for businesses, while ensuring compliance with labor rights related to the enjoyment and payment of public holidays.
