The National Wage Committee (CNS) approved, through Resolution No. CNS-04-2026, a 20% increase in the minimum wage for construction and related workers, to be implemented nationwide and in stages.
The decision was reached through tripartite dialogue among representatives of workers, employers, and the Government, following meetings held by the National Wage Committee on May 12, 19, and 26, and June 2, 2026.
New Minimum Wage Rates
The new wage rates for each category following the increase are detailed below:
Please note that the increase will be implemented in two stages: 8% beginning in August 2026 and the remaining 12% beginning on June 1, 2027, completing the full agreed adjustment.
What Should Employers in This Sector Consider?
We recommend that employers in the sector review their salary structures and payroll systems, taking into account each employee's occupational category and the effective date of the applicable wage rate.
Employers should also assess the impact of the adjustment on employment-related payments and benefits calculated on the basis of employee compensation and make the corresponding updates to their internal processes.
