#CostaRica 🇨🇷 #BDS_LaborAlert: Lawmakers Approve Bill in Second Debate to Grant Paid Bereavement Leave for the Death of a Close Relative

For the first time in Costa Rica, employees will be entitled to paid bereavement leave in the event of the death of a close relative, following the approval of Bill No. 23.929 on Monday, October 21, in the second debate by the Legislative Assembly.

The length of this leave to be granted by the employer will range from one to three days, depending on the degree of consanguinity or affinity between the employee and the deceased.
