Recently, it was approved to declare June 1st a paid holiday for the private sector, in honor of President Nayib Bukele's inauguration as he begins his second term for the 2024-2029 period in our country.

The decision was made on May 22nd by 57 congresspersons of the Legislative Assembly, who supported the initiative submitted by Congressman Caleb Navarro, which aims to ensure mobility and security during the inauguration ceremony.

For public employees, Article 1 of the Holidays and Vacations Act will apply, which already grants paid holidays on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.
