#ElSalvador 🇸🇻 #BDS_Informs: How to Validate a Certified Medical Leave Issued by the Doctor SV Platform with the ISSS

For employees, having a properly validated medical leave certificate is essential to support their absence from work in accordance with applicable regulations. Likewise, for employers, understanding these processes enables proper administrative management, internal control, and compliance with social security requirements.

To formally recognize a certified medical leave issued through the Doctor SV platform, it is important to complete the validation process with the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS in Spanish) so that it is formally recognized within the system.

Below, we explain how to complete this process in a simple manner:

  • Begin by calling 127, the ISSS customer service center.

  • Once the call begins, select option 2 and then select option 2 again, according to the available menu.

  • After that, wait to be connected with an agent, who will assist you throughout the process. It is advisable to have your Unique Identity Document (DUI in Spanish) on hand, as it will be required to verify your information.

  • The agent will then provide the official ISSS WhatsApp number, to which you must send the certified medical leave issued by Doctor SV.

  • It is important not to end the call until instructed by the agent, as the process continues while the submitted documentation is being validated.

  • You will then be asked to confirm your email address. Once this information is verified, you may end the call.

  • Finally, please wait approximately 10 minutes, after which you will receive the validated medical leave certificate by email.

Important Recommendations

To streamline the process, we recommend:

  • Having your DUI ready before calling.

  • Ensuring that the medical certificate is legible.

  • Confirming that your email address is correctly entered.

  • Following the agent’s instructions throughout the entire process.
