#ElSalvador 🇸🇻 #BDS_LaborAlert: Effective Date of Chapter XVIII of the “Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities” Postponed

In our country, the inclusion of persons with disabilities is regulated by a special law enacted by legislative decree in 2020 to ensure the full exercise of their rights and their social, labor, and educational integration.

However, the effective date of Chapter XVIII, which pertains to sanctions, has recently been postponed to January 1, 2026.

It is important to clarify that the Special law on the inclusion of persons with disabilities is already in effect; however, its sanctions chapter had previously been postponed until June 2023. With this new extension, its provisions will now take effect during the first half of 2026.

We recommend that employers remain informed of these legislative changes, which have labor implications, to ensure the rights of employees with disabilities are upheld.
