On Monday, October 27, the National Salary Council (CNS in Spanish) salary increase applicable to minimum wages of the private sector for the year 2026.
Following a review of the proposals submitted in recent weeks by the three involved sectors —labor unions, employers, and the Government)—a general 1.63% increase was established for all workers who receive the minimum wage in any salary category.
In addition to the established amount, differentiated adjustments will be granted in the following three categories:
- Domestic workers: an additional 2.33962% (pursuant to Resolution CNS-RG-2-2019).
- Workers in Generic Specialized Occupations: an additional 0.5562880% (pursuant to Resolution CNS-RG-6-2020).
- Mid-Level Technician in Diversified Education: an additional 0.88768% (pursuant to Resolution RG-MTSS-CNS-1-2025).
According to the agreement issued by the National Salary Council (CNS), this increase will enter into force as of January 1, 2026, following its publication in the Official Gazette. Employers are advised to take the necessary steps in advance to adjust salaries and ensure compliance for the upcoming next year.
