#CostaRica 🇨🇷 #BDS_Reports: Considerations for Proper Handling of the Upcoming August 31st Holiday

On Saturday, August 31st, our country will observe the holiday "Day of the Black Person and the Afro-Costa Rican Culture," a recently established holiday which has been defined in our Labor Code as a non-mandatory paid holiday.

Below, we outline the key aspects you should consider regarding its observance, the day of celebration, and the correct method of compensation.

Is the observance of this holiday transferable?

No. As with other holidays this year, this holiday must be enjoyed on the actual day of the week on which the holiday falls. In this case, the holiday must be observed by employees on Saturday, August 31st, in accordance with the provisions of Article 148 bis of the Labor Code.
