On July 12th 2023, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security reported that, after the second half of July 2023, the General Labor Inspectorate (IGT – by its Spanish acronym) would carry out around 1,890 inspections of employers throughout the Republic. In this sense, it is important to know the procedure followed at the time of an inspection, in this case if the inspector verifies that the employer has not complied with the payment of Bono 14 (Annual Bonus), they proceed to make a prevention, where it will set a deadline of 5 days to the employer to comply with it. At the end of the deadline, the IGT will carry out a new verification.

If the employer has not complied with the payment of the benefit of Bono 14, the inspection shall proceed to sanction it according to the Labor Code, which can be a fine of 8 to 18 monthly minimum wages in force for non-agricultural activities.
