#DominicanRepublic 🇩🇴 #BDS_Informs: The Importance of Labor Compliance in Light of Increased Inspections

The Ministry of Labor recently reported on the results obtained following a significant increase in labor inspections conducted during the first months of 2026. These actions are part of a strategic plan to strengthen oversight of regulatory compliance in the workplace.

Between January and February alone, over 5,800 inspections were carried out across various economic sectors, resulting in thousands of non-compliance reports, primarily related to working conditions, mandatory documentation, and employer obligations.

In this context, it is essential for companies to ensure they are fully compliant with current labor legislation. Authorities have intensified enforcement operations nationwide, a trend expected to continue throughout the year.

From a legal standpoint, we strongly advise conducting preventive labor audits to mitigate risks, avoid penalties, and manage potential contingencies.

Please do not hesitate to contact should you require assistance in managing your company’s labor affairs or ensuring regulatory compliance.
