The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (SETRASS) of Honduras announced the launch of the Digital Registry of Part-Time Employment Contracts within the framework of the Part-Time Employment Law (Legislative Decree No. 45-2016). This tool is designed to modernize the labor system and streamline employer compliance through an efficient, fully digital process.
Upon implementation, companies are required to register part-time contracts within 30 calendar days following their execution, or within 15 business days for contracts of shorter duration. This registration process aims to formalize employment relationships, prevent irregularities, and generate reliable labor market data.
The authority emphasized that this initiative strengthens administrative oversight and prioritizes employee protection, while also contributing to the organization of the labor market. Furthermore, it was reiterated that these contracts will remain subject to ongoing supervision through labor inspection mechanisms.
In this context, it is essential for employers to review their hiring and employment documentation processes to ensure timely compliance and avoid potential contingencies arising from inspections or formal non-compliance events.
