The bill was enacted immediately thereafter and published the following day as Legislative Decree No. 10,962, "Amendment to the Commercial Code and Law No. 10,597 to Guarantee the Free and Expeditious Registration of Corporate Email Addresses."  The initiative, processed under **Legislative File No. 25,094**, seeks to facilitate compliance with the requirement for legal entities to maintain an official electronic address for receiving **judicial, administrative, and registry-related notifications**. One of the **main changes introduced by the reform** is that, in addition to the mechanisms currently available, the registration or amendment of an email address may be carried out through a **sworn statement executed by the company's legal representative in an electronic document signed with a certified digital signature**. As a result, it will **no longer be necessary to execute a public deed or notarize corporate resolutions** in order to complete the filing. The reform is intended to **simplify procedures, reduce costs, and promote the digitalization of filings and formalities** that legal entities must complete before the National Registry. It also seeks to facilitate compliance with an obligation that has become increasingly relevant, as **notifications sent to the registered email address will produce legal effects for the company**. **As for deadlines**, the Decree provides that corporations incorporated prior to the entry into force of the law must register an email address for notifications with the Legal Entities Registry **no later than December 31, 2026**. In addition, legal entities will have **up to 18 months to comply with this requirement**. **The reform is now in force.** It was published in **Supplement No. 69 to Official Gazette No. 101 on June 3, 2026**, and, as provided in the Decree, its provisions became effective upon publication. In light of the foregoing, corporations are encouraged to **verify whether they already have an email address registered with the National Registry, ensure that such address remains active and accessible to their legal representatives, and implement appropriate internal controls to promptly review communications received through this channel**.
