#Honduras 🇭🇳 #BDS_LaborAlert: Government of Honduras Expands Telework Due to Surge in SarCOVID-19 Cases

On July 27, 2025, the Secretariat of Governance, Justice and Decentralization of Honduras announced that, in light of the increase in respiratory illnesses and the detection of the highly contagious SarCOVID-19 variant known as Omicron XFG, preventive measures will be implemented from July 28 to August 3, 2025.

The following provisions are included:

  • Mandatory teleworking for all Central Government agencies, decentralized institutions, and entities subject to special regimes, with the exception of security, health, and essential service institutions, which must continue operating on-site.
  • Recommendations for the private sector to adopt similar preventive measures in their respective workplaces.
  • Use of face masks is required for the general public in both open and enclosed public spaces, along with instructions to wash hands frequently, maintain physical distancing, and avoid large gatherings.

Authorities urge the public to visit the nearest healthcare center if experiencing symptoms and to complete the full vaccination schedule.

The official statement is attached for further details.

Should the government announce additional measures as the situation develops, we will provide timely updates.
