Through Agreement No. 76-2025, the Ministry of Labor has announced the granting of paid leave for public servants employed by centralized and decentralized entities of the public administration in our country. This provision will apply on Friday, May 2.
This leave does not apply to public servants whose collective bargaining agreements establish the observance of the holiday on a different date.
Likewise, officials from institutions that provide essential public services or that have scheduled, non-deferrable activities are also excluded from this benefit. In such cases, the competent authorities must organize the necessary shifts to ensure the continuity of services.
With respect to the Judicial Branch, the leave applies to officials and employees in both judicial and administrative areas, except for duty courts and security personnel who, due to the nature of their duties, must continue to provide uninterrupted services.
It is important to note that this leave does not apply to private sector employees.
