In our country, the inclusion of persons with disabilities is regulated by a **special law** enacted by legislative decree in **2020** to ensure the full exercise of their rights and their social, labor, and educational integration.

However, the **effective date of Chapter XVIII**, which **pertains to sanctions, has recently been postponed to January 1, 2026.**

It is important to clarify that the *Special law on the inclusion of persons with disabilities* is already in effect; however, its sanctions chapter had previously been postponed until June 2023. With this new extension, its provisions will now take effect during **the first half of 2026.**

We recommend that employers remain informed of these legislative changes, which have labor implications, **to** **ensure the rights of employees with disabilities are upheld.**
